Non-Inflammatory / Comedonal Acne

When the blockage comes before the breakout.

Not every breakout is red or angry. Comedonal acne occurs when a pore becomes blocked with sebum and dead skin cells, creating either an open comedone (blackhead) or a closed comedone (whitehead). You may notice small bumps, rough texture or skin that simply never feels completely clear.

This type of acne often responds beautifully to the right combination of healthy exfoliation, cell-turnover support and regulation of excess oil, rather than aggressive extraction or constantly trying to scrub the skin clean. Our Circadia enzymes and targeted exfoliation can be incorporated where appropriate, alongside home care designed to keep the follicles clear and functioning properly.

The goal isn't just to clear what's sitting in the pore today. We want to help your skin become better at preventing that build-up in the first place, while keeping your barrier strong and comfortable along the way.

How We Treat This Type of Acne

We start by restoring what your skin needs most, its barrier.

Barrier impairment is often a key contributor to this type of acne, so our first priority is to bring the skin back into balance. The Delilah Mae Method is designed around exactly this, using carefully selected enzymes, peels, hydration, calming therapies and targeted modalities to correct barrier dysfunction while addressing the build-up contributing to congestion.

As the skin becomes stronger and more resilient, we can progressively introduce more corrective elements of the Method, including targeted exfoliation and professional extractions where appropriate. Extractions are performed carefully and intentionally, with the goal of clearing the follicle without creating unnecessary trauma or further compromising the barrier.

We don't believe clearer skin should come at the expense of healthier skin. We work with your skin, restoring its function while gradually clearing what's getting in its way.
