Because sometimes, what’s happening in your skin starts somewhere else.
The Gut–Skin Connection
Because your skin doesn’t exist in isolation.
Your gut and your skin are in constant communication through what’s known as the gut–skin axis. The gut microbiome, immune system and inflammatory pathways can all influence what happens within the skin, and research has found associations between rosacea and gastrointestinal health. This doesn’t mean that gut health causes rosacea, but for some people, it may be one piece of the puzzle.
If you notice your skin flaring alongside digestive symptoms, changes in your diet or periods of digestive discomfort, it can be worth looking at the bigger picture. Rather than putting you on a restrictive “rosacea diet”, we want to understand your individual patterns and identify whether there may be something worth exploring. Sometimes supporting the skin from the inside can be just as important as what we’re doing on the outside.
Supporting Your Skin From Within
We don't believe you should have to navigate this alone. Delilah Mae works alongside trusted health professionals, including naturopaths and nutritionists, through our internal health support partner, Whole Health Studio. Where appropriate, we can work collaboratively to explore nutritional and gut-health factors that may be relevant to your skin, while keeping everyone in their area of expertise.
It's not about finding one thing to blame for your rosacea. It's about understanding the whole picture and giving your skin the best possible support from the inside out.
